hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable three-year old son, Cameron, and a chubby one year old, Lance.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

a cottage remodel.

What’s the month of January without a bit of a remodel? Fresh year, fresh start… You may be wondering if I have anything at all to remodel left. After the exterior, living room, kitchen, master bath, guest bath, master bedroom, nursery, boy’s room, studio, laundry room and side yard, there can’t be anything in my...

I’ve actually never shared our business cards here on the blog. Or any of our branding, really. Yet we print a new iteration...

mix your own paint and other tales.

The laundry room was the last room in our house to receive the magical remodel touch. Mostly because, well, it’s a laundry room. But eventually, we didn’t have any rooms left (well, there is the studio bathroom, and the second story organization, and the garage to still be dealt with, but I digress), soo… we...

{ a laundry room }

It seems that in January, everyone is seeking a clean fresh start. Be it going back to the gym, eating fresh healthy food, making new business plans, organizing every messy closet in the house, you name it, it’s a bit purifying after the decadence of the holidays. So how about starting 2012 off with a...

harvest.

As I alluded recently, right now we are in the thick of rice harvest (our real other job). A surprise series of rain storms in early October slowed the process down a bit and set us into the mud… which no farmer likes to face. Thankfully, our recent weather has been perfect, and the fields...

more texture {faux bois}

Checking off the list of “things I haven’t shown you yet” (which, don’t get me really started or I’ll get depressed about the amount of product I’ve designed, printed and packaged but never photographed and blogged)… we have more from our interiors/textile series: our faux bois card (“foh bwah”, for those of you who want...
