hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable three-year old son, Cameron, and a chubby one year old, Lance.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

{ bumpass hell. }

Caught your attention with that title, didn’t I? Once upon a time, there was a man named Kendall VanHook Bumpass. He was a hunter, backwoodsmen, and discovered some very hot sulphur works near Mt. Lassen back in 1860. Unfortunately for him, he broke through the fragile crust and burned his leg badly – twice. The...

At One Mile. } { Chevron times 2. Unfortunately, I don’t like the curtains though. } { Orders, orders...

instagr.am { the month of june }

Do you use instagr.am? It’s a little photo app for iPhone, and I’ve been using it since I got my new iPhone 4 (thanks honey!) as an anniversary present back in April. It’s a quirky little app with photo filters and a simple feed. I absolutely love it, and it has evolved into a sort...

a bit sketchy.

So I can’t really show you anything we’ve been cooking up for the National Stationery Show (booth 1671!)… yet. I can tell you that apart from being all-consuming and stressful… it’s also been inspiring. The newest designs have come entirely from my sketch book. Pencil it, ink it in, scan it, tweak it slightly, and...

a gas station proposal.

Being a part of the wedding (& blogging) industry, I see my fair share of fabulous engagement shoots and fairy-tale proposal stories. Running through a field in slow-motion with a fistful of balloons? Check. Vintage car and fabulous outfits? Check. Romantic wine picnic in a rustic, grassy paradise? Check, check. But top this one folks…...

{ gifts to take to parties }

I’ve gotten a couple email requests to do some gift guides (which I’ve never done before) and I thought I would take a shot at one.  Now any of you who know me well do know that I loooove giving gifts and thinking of the perfect gift for that one person. The problem is, people...
