hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have three adorable and active boys ages 5 and under.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints, or whip out a card line on the Heidelberg.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

gone camping { 2013 }

We managed to eke out a camping trip at the end of summer, right before the start of harvest. I have to admit, camping with three super young boys is something of a slog. Nobody to help pack, carry, load or organize, SO MUCH STUFF to bring (pack and plays, diapers, booster seats, kid carry […]

Matt and I are officially calling this summer a success and are very pleased with the step back we both took from overworking (we ended up being more productive actually, just mostly hobby work). { Matt & I slipped away to San Francisco for […]

It’s the last weekend of summer! It’s been a while since I’ve done a “happy weekend” post (a couple years actually), but I thought I’d pop in this Friday to send you off with a few well-wishes. Here’s hoping you find time to… …Eat fantastic summery food (outside). Go for that kayak… …or bike ride. […]

{ firsts & lasts. }

We snuck away last week for a bit to the family cabin to enjoy the last true week of our summer. Hence the radio silence. Because this morning, at 7 am, bright and early, this little guy started his very first day of school: Yes. Kindergarten is here. I’m not one of those super sentimental […]

instagr.am { the month of july }

July was awesome. { Fourth of July at the cabin = Patriotic French Toast!) { Truck and Tractor books. I will never, ever forget them, even if I wanted to. } { Sunlight on a 6 foot tall flower. No filter. }   { This is the kind of stuff that gives me happy chills: […]

take a hike! { lakes basin }

I know it’s going to be a hot one this weekend in Chico (108°F, anyone?), but I’ve just been feeling the outdoorsy pull lately. With summer close to half over, as our school year starts in August(!) we are trying to capture as much sun and adventure as we can. Swims, bike rides, hikes, and […]
