hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable two-year old son, Cameron.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

we’re totally famous now.

I kid.  But… we’ve been interviewed and published!  And golly, gosh, gee, we are thrilled about it! Here is this week’s Chico News and Review sitting on our coffee table… Catchy cover story, yes?  Well, that’s not us (not that I wouldn’t be happy to lose a few).  Did you take a glance at the...

{ hicks brothers }

Where do letterpresses go to die?  Is there some misty, hidden elephant graveyard that swallows up the iron bones of the old beast presses, secreting them for all eternity?  Um, not really.  Most old presses get dumped in scrap metal yards, stirred together ingloriously with other pieces of sad forgotten things. Unless… they are lucky...

bits and pieces.

This could also be titled “random things happening in the studio that probably aren’t important enough for their own post but that I wanted to share with you anyway” however, I was afraid it just might not fit in the blog header. I know you’ve all seen the studio tour (on here and a huge...

{ things i love. }

Pattern and Texture.  They go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly, Laurel and Hardy, Milk and Cookies.  At least in my book they do!! Which is why I sincerely enjoy the simple pleasure of customizing one of our invites, the pinstripe in this case, to meet the clients desired pattern… and texture.  And the pinstripe...
