hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable two-year old son, Cameron.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

a harvest table.

Whew!  The holidays are here, aren’t they?  Things have gotten busy, busy, busy… and we’re not complaining.  We are printing, printing, printing!  We still hope to have our Etsy holiday shop open up over the weekend – so stay tuned! In the wonderful meantime, I’m sure a lot of you are making (or have made)...

Feeling crafty?  Here’s my {ahem} attempt at a little DIY fall decorating goodness for your enjoyment (or mockument, as the case may be). Little disclaimer here:  I’ve never considered myself to be a “craft” person.  While I love being creative, and creativity in general, I often lack the ability to pull things off.  “Things” being...

tick, tock, homemade clock.

Well, you might have taken the letterpress studio tour a little while back, but since that time we have managed to put up a little pizazz on our walls that I wanted to share with you.  We made a clock – a custom type clock. Not a type of clock, but a clock made of...

kitchen remodel: source list

Well, we made it through kitchen week!  I hope yesterday’s post didn’t kill you – it was so loooooong.  Just understand, I felt a need to show my gratitude towards the people who graciously put their time into making a “how-to” so that complete strangers can have an easier time doing projects.  And wanted to...

kitchen remodel: the cabinets

We’re halfway through kitchen remodel week – and we’ve reached …the cabinets.  Cue dramatic music. Grab yourself a latte and have a seat. Painting the kitchen cabinets myself was probably my most successful DIY ever.  It was also definitely the longest, most time consuming, heart-wrenching, drag-out-dirty project I’ve ever done.  And so worth it.  I...

kitchen remodel: choices.

Now that you’ve seen the before and after, let’s talk about how we got there.  We didn’t use an interior designer, or a kitchen designer or any such thing.  The kitchen is a mix of online inspiration, the best deals we could find, and a few splurges on certain things that mattered. Originally, I thought...
