hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have three adorable and active boys ages 5 and under.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints, or whip out a card line on the Heidelberg.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

{ gifts that you make yourself }

Believe it our not, I have a series of three gift guides coming your way this week (along with the inside reveal of my parent’s cottage remodel – I promise (cross my heart and hope to die)). Why the gift guides? Well, a couple of reasons. I did one back in 2010 (hostess gifts) which […]

a tale of two wreaths.

Anybody who’s been following this blog for a while knows I have a little wreath obsession. As soon as Autumn hits, I like to slip one up on my front door, and then swap it out for an evergreen version over the Winter holidays. A bare door at this time of year almost seems naked […]

diy metallic pillows for fall

Well hello there, Autumn!! This first week of Fall has seemed to follow classic textbook descriptions here in Northern California: crisp nights, sunny but windy days, and the occasional cleansing drizzle of rain. Oh, and rice harvest has started, which means I’m solo-parenting for the next month or so. It also means I’m jazzed up […]

diy farmhouse table.

I’ve been wanting to replace our little outdoor dining table for a long time. The original Safeway special (that we bought in 2003) had seen many refinishes, and barely seated six people, which is simply our family plus one lonely little guest. So, I wanted something long, to easily seat up to ten warm bodies, […]

little things: a fireplace fix.

This is the fireplace wall in my living room. In this photo from 2009, it’s decorated for summer. Overall, I love the marble fireplace, the wall, the whole set up. I can decorate it for spring, summer, fall, and christmas and it’s a cozy-ing element to the living room. We had leftover kitchen slab when […]
