hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable two-year old son, Cameron.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

{ holiday } open house.

Howdy, folks.  We’re still here!  As in… not dead, moved out of country, and no, we haven’t quit letterpress. Not yet, anyway. I mention this because I did get a couple of concerned messages (even my parents noticed!!) with the blog having been a bit more, um, silent over the past two weeks.
Nope, we are...

So excited to share it with you!  Let’s start with the outside, shall we?  Our letterpress studio is a little two-story building detached from our house, located in the backyard.  It has its own driveway/street entrance (usually this is our...

{ a whole new… fridge. }

Lots of busy design going on here today, so this will be a pretty short post. Dipping my toe into the DIY explanation world here, I thought I would start with something pretty simple. A fridge. A worn out, in-your-garage, second-storage-for-parties sort of fridge. Well, maybe some of you have a...

le grand opening trois: people

Well, an opening wouldn’t be an opening without people coming to it, and we were blessed to have some wonderful, high-quality folks at the launch of Wild Ink Press. Thanks go in large part to my in-laws, Lance and Audrey, who are community pillars and very well-known and liked everywhere. Our event was on the...

le grand opening deux: food

The food. Food may be my favorite hobby, well eating it, that is, and that’s just barely ahead of cooking it as my second favorite thing. So combined it’s like an uber-hobby and combined with how much Matt likes to eat, well, let’s just say we’re fond of food around here. Which is...
