hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable two-year old son, Cameron.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

upper park: { a summer love story }

A little photo essay for your Monday. Cameron explores Upper Bidwell Park, Summer 2010. Shall we go fishing? The end of the road (and beginning of the trail). Creek walking. Creek swimming. Hiking. Happiness.Have you gone exploring yet this summer? P.S. Apologies are to be made for an overuse of Photoshop filters in these images....

We’ve been away this week (if you haven’t noticed, it’s been a little quiet here on the blog), and just arrived back home today.  Our trip involved letterpress inspiration,...

around the house: the nursery.

Once upon a time, I started blogging bits about our home decor and remodel.  I showed you a few rooms from our home:  the living room (in several seasons), the kitchen (and its remodel), the outside, and most recently, our guest and master bath remodels. But we do have other spaces I haven’t shown you...

{ americana. }

Since we’re on a patriotic bent this weekend, here’s a bit of Americana for your Monday (which you hopefully have off!): Do you remember having an ice cream cone in the middle of summer as a child?  Yum.  I recall how much I wanted it to last, so I would lick slowly, but it would...

{ happy monday. }

Did you have a good weekend?  Here in Northern California, it was sunny, mild and perfect. We had a little farmer’s market, a little coffee shop, a few good cleanup projects (we’re parking our cars in the garage for the first time since the remodel!!!) and a little hiking and exploring the amazing recesses of...

oh, my. gracious.

Some kids are kids.  Others are little adults.  Wonder which kind I have?  The following is a word-for-word transcript from this morning: Cameron (2) enters the kitchen and announces his arrival by exclaiming: “Oh, my. Gracious!” Surveys the scene. I am getting out bread. C: “Watcha doin’ babe?” Me: “I’m making a sandwich.” C: “I...
