hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable three-year old son, Cameron, and a chubby one year old, Lance.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

staircase {reveal}

Okay so, yeah, it’s been a while since I left you dangling in the middle of our staircase project, unpainted and unfinished. We just FINALLY had Matt install the new rail last week, so now I’m ready to show it to you! You like it? I love it!! Here are a few sweet details… Doesn’t...

Only have a brief snatch of time here, but I wanted to share with you the cutest little Christmas tree. We made Cameron a tree last year out of a rosemary bush (see it here), and this year he was very excited to continue the tradition of “my own tree.” The tree itself we picked...

to trim a tree {and other tales}

This is the story of our Christmas tree. The 2010 Saga. Brace yourselves – it was brutal. It all began with a glorious white Thanksgiving. We spent it with Matt’s parents at the cozy little family cabin in Lake Almanor. Snow, perfect snow, plus freezing temperatures and three massive head colds (Matt, Cameron and me)...

christmas {from the archives}

Happy weekend to all of you! Hope you have a relaxing one filled with cocoa and family and cozy times by the fire (add a dash of good conversation). Our tree is up, but I haven’t finished the mantel yet, so photos of current Christmas cheer will have to wait. But I know a lot...

fall decor: { glamorganic }

Okay, so that may be a silly, made-up word (I didn’t even originate it, I think it comes from here, but I’ve heard it several places). Glamorous, yet organic feeling. And here organic refers to naturalness of shape, form and texture, not USDA certification of food or anything else. I’ve been enjoying this style for...

there’s a flea on the hair on the wart on the frog…

Okay, enough cheesy flea quotes. Cameron loves that song though, almost as much as Matt does. We left the first Alameda flea market post yesterday with you dangling at lunch time. Back in the game now, you won’t want to miss the junk (i.e. rubbish, odds and ends, jumble, unwanted goods, castoffs, general) that can...
