hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable two-year old son, Cameron.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

dinner on a dime: leek and potato soup

Leeks have been my 2009 food obsession.  I have to admit, before this year, I had not really been exposed to them, and definitely had never cooked with them.  But we went to Paris this past spring on our anniversary, and let me tell you, leeks were everywhere!  And they were so delicious.  I’ve spent...

happy weekend: pie and cheese.

I think we made it to the weekend, friends!  What kind of wonderful plans do you have?
Maybe you should bake a pie…  let’s see, what do you have on hand?
Hm.. Ricotta… had been planning to use it in an italian meal that didn’t need the extra.
A pie crust (or pie crust ingredients, who doesn’t have...

{ in the kitchen. }

I know, I know, I said I would have a look at our kitchen remodel today.  I am working on it, but there are more than 300 photos of the kitchen “in process” that I have to sort through to give you a proper post!  So, it’s looking like it will be a Monday excursion...

buongiorno!

Feeling immersed in Italy here this fine Monday morning.  Several reasons, I suppose. One, I am working on a Venezia theme for some printed goods for a very special occasion next year (more on this later-later).  Two, I am planning a menu for a small dinner party for a certain special someone’s birthday this week...
