hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have three adorable and active boys ages 5 and under.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints, or whip out a card line on the Heidelberg.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

my journey to homemade pie crust.

**I’m sure you all are headed every which way in your Thanksgiving travels (I wanted to get this post up much earlier, but what can I say? Three kids and letterpress holiday season) – I hope you all travel safely!** ————————————————————————————————— This post has been long in the making. Remember two and a half years […]

I took an inordinate amount of instagram shots this month. With three busy boys and no Matt around to help (again, Harvest) it was […]

holiday 2012: handel’s messiah

The final new card series in our holiday line-up is inspired by Handel’s Messiah. Both Matt and I love this vocal work sooo much, in fact, every year we try to make it to the Mondavi Center to hear the American Bach Soloists sing this beautiful oratorio. If you have never heard this work performed […]

holiday 2012: holiday vignettes.

Our next little new series of cards is called Holiday Vignettes. Basically, I drew six little whimsical sketches on a theme. I love variations, and often when I’m drawing a new design I try a bunch of takes on one concept. So this time, I thought, why not just include all the iterations? I […]

holiday 2012: vintage ornaments

It’s that time of year again! The time we roll out our new holiday line and I get to share the behind-the-scenes scoop on each of them. I try to wait until November (really, Christmas for me starts after Thanksgiving), but so many of you are so organized and ahead of schedule, and I’ve been […]

halloween 2012: a fire crew.

Hope you had a fun (and safe) Halloween yesterday! Here in Chico it rained cats and dogs, and we only had a few brave trick-or-treaters. It’s madness with three boys I tell you – madness. The very fact that they are all dressed in costume and standing in the same photo is in itself a […]
