hello there.

Well, whaddya wanna know?  Here's the plain and simple truth:  My name is Rebekah Tennis and I love design.  I love paper, the way it feels, its weight and texture.  I love extra special touches on little things: homemade tags on gift-wrap, old stamps on an envelope, and twine on nearly everything.

My husband, business partner and all-around solid rock Matt would probably tell you that he likes tools - lots of 'em, finding the perfect way to do something, taking things apart, and precision in everything.

So you might as well have guessed by now... we are the perfect match for an old letterpress studio. Together we farm rice and have a small but adorable two-year old son, Cameron.  This keeps us fairly busy, but whenever we have a spare moment, we crank up our 102 year old Chandler and Price platen press and pull some prints.

There's more, oh yes, there IS more - but that's what this blog is for.  Take a look around, get to know us, our great town of Chico, California and our beautiful presses.

September 6, 2009 - 4:56 am Emily - I really love the Audrey! These would be perfect for dropping a note to my girlfriends that are scattered throughout the country!

September 6, 2009 - 5:31 am Jen S. - I love all things letterpress and all of these artful designs, but I swear my pulse quickened when I saw The Dictionary! Oh. My. Goodness. I LOVE it. Our wedding theme is vintage books because I'm a write and my fiancee and I have always bonded over books. We often read together over the phone before we go to sleep at night (currently we're tackling Annie Proulx's The Shipping News!). One thing I've really been aiming for is making our wedding gender neutral so it's not "all about the bride." Words, letters, and books are romantic but not exclusively feminine, hence our choice of theme. So these days in addition to ordering a cake and hiring a coordinator, we have been hunting for our favorite fonts, aged book covers, and antique paper. The Dictionary set would be so perfect for us!

September 6, 2009 - 7:05 am Megan - I love the Dictionary! It was definitely the envelope that sold me - the lining is just too awesome. Plus, I love letterpress! Thanks for a great giveaway :)

September 6, 2009 - 8:36 am Alive - I loved the dictionary and circus, but if I had to choose, I think I'd go with the happy colors of the circus!

September 6, 2009 - 12:55 pm Debbie - My favorite is the Audrey! It's vintage and fun. It's hard finding invitations that are both modern and have a flair for the timelessness that are weddings... it would be perfect for our theme. Thanks for the great designs!

September 6, 2009 - 2:58 pm Vilija - Oh, you've got me smitten. I love the dictionary especially for the word-lined envelope. The overall style is simple and classic, but then you get the envelope surprise that pulls it all together.

September 6, 2009 - 6:04 pm Miegan - I love the Audrey...these would be great for thank you notes!

September 7, 2009 - 4:03 am Heather Templin - How sweet! I love the Audrey and the Dictionary. I found you via Snippet and Ink...I will add you to my daily reads :)

September 7, 2009 - 8:25 am kim - Love the dictionary!! How clever!

September 7, 2009 - 9:41 am Dana Loran - I love love LOVE the Audrey, the double dotted lines are so fresh combined with the script. Magenta and silver is such a chic combo!

September 7, 2009 - 10:11 am Christine H. - Love the Audrey! The color is absolutely fabulous.

September 7, 2009 - 9:55 pm Kellie - I really like The Audrey because of its feminine details. However, the dictionary is quite lovely, too; I don't think girls should be put off by the more masculine detail of the font and liner.

September 8, 2009 - 6:21 am Maria Fortunato - How do you pick? I love the "scratchy" script in the envelopes on the Circus. The lined envelope in the Dictionary is truly the most unique idea I have seen yet (and a favorite) and the color scheme from the Audrey is so bright and refreshing it can be used for any need, so I am truly stumped!

September 8, 2009 - 7:01 am Danielle - I am in love with the Audrey!! They are all beautiful designs!

September 8, 2009 - 9:59 am Mary - love love love the 1st one! Seersucker -esque with an unexpected orange punch is so refreshing!

September 8, 2009 - 12:47 pm Leticia - I love these! The colors and the styles are great!!

September 8, 2009 - 3:00 pm rachel - Although they are all beautiful designs, I love audrey best!

September 8, 2009 - 3:00 pm Sam - I love the Dictionary because Scrabble is my ultimate fave game...but I have to pick Circus because orange is my favourite colour and the dotted stripes are just too cute. :)

September 8, 2009 - 4:09 pm Anna - My fav is the Audrey. Gotta love the bright pink.

September 8, 2009 - 4:18 pm Grant K. Gibson - Since I am NEW to your site and working with you- I thought- hey- I should TRY too! What do I have to lose! The dictionary is the one! I think that it is simple- clever and just plain cute!

September 8, 2009 - 6:36 pm Mandy - I think my favorite, being a word nerd, is Dictionary for sure. Circus being a close runner-up. Great work!

September 8, 2009 - 6:51 pm Kyle - How could I chose between the circus and the dictionary? They both appeal to my split style personality!! Love the circus' punchy color combo. Orangey pumpkin spice is my FAV color. And then the dictionary is organic and clean - quirky without being fussy. Love them. Please pick me Random.org!!!!

September 8, 2009 - 6:53 pm CBS - I love the dictionary simply for the fun paper bag envelope with the dictionary word lining. That is awesome!

September 8, 2009 - 8:34 pm Kristina Dargento - I love the circus - simple, stunning and a color that really pops!

September 8, 2009 - 9:29 pm elisa schlink - Ooo! I love Rachel's Bandana Paisley one in purple. I just like paisleys. They are all so neat, Bekah! Nice work! =), elisa.

September 8, 2009 - 10:48 pm Katie Hanson - DEFINITELY the dictionary!

September 8, 2009 - 11:58 pm Amanda - They are all fantastic but the Audrey cards are my favorite! They are a stunning, classy and modern. I would love those for my wedding thank you cards!

September 9, 2009 - 4:49 am Brooke AKins - I love everything about the Audrey -- it's simple and classic and the magenta gives it a lot of vibrancy, as well. I also really love the envelopes for the dictionary -- what a great idea!

September 9, 2009 - 1:52 pm Megan - I love the Audrey the best. The punchy color is eye-catching and vibrant, but not too girly. And I love the border around the return address... but I also love the return address font on the Circus... So hard to choose!

September 9, 2009 - 4:49 pm amy - I love The Dictionary invitations! They are so unique and classic! Love them!

September 9, 2009 - 9:19 pm Tammy - I heart The Dictionary design so much! I'm a writer by trade, and so that design seems super fitting coming from me. It's the quintessential "show don't tell" move, and looks super professional too. Oh, how wonderful it would look with my name on it! :-)

September 10, 2009 - 7:01 am Kelly - I esp. love "The Dictionary"... My fiance (English Teacher) and I are avid book lovers, and I appreciate that the design isn't super-feminine, which is sometimes hard to come by! Great giveaway!

September 10, 2009 - 10:01 am Cherish - I like the Circus design the best but the dictionary design is a very close second. The Circus design is fun and bright and the dictionary design would be for when I am in a more serious mood.

September 10, 2009 - 12:55 pm Renee - I'm so disappointed; I thought I had a few more minutes to enter! Well, I'd like to comment anyways on the beauty of the invitations. I love to see that no detail has been overlooked. I love the scratchy font, the silver lined envelopes and the overall style of the dictionary stationary. The dictionary is so neat & tidy yet very dignified. I think it's perfect for a man or woman!

September 11, 2009 - 10:08 pm Dabney Roberts - I like the Dictionary. My fiance and I are both big readers, and it would be perfect for us.

September 14, 2009 - 1:41 pm annaliza - ooo. that's a really tough choice. but since you said, "one" i'll go with the Bandana Paisley because its my favorite color, and has a type of vintage history through the font and imagination in the paisley. beautiful!

September 3, 2010 - 3:38 pm vivie - i love the dictionary. i love anything old. the script is classic and tailored. i also love bright colors so would love it with colored envelopes too.
